Wind Farm Choir LLC is planning to construct a wind power plant in Sumber soum, Govisumber Province. The company signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the National Dispatching Center SOE LLC on 30 July 2026.
The project is designed to strengthen the stability and reliability of Mongolia's integrated power system while increasing the share of renewable energy. The wind farm will have an installed capacity of 50.4 MW and will be equipped with a 20 MW / 80 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS). The project is scheduled to be commissioned in 2028.
Wind Farm Choir LLC first obtained a power facility construction license from the Energy Regulatory Commission in December 2011. The license was subsequently renewed in 2023 and is currently set to expire on 1 December 2026.
At present, Mongolia has three grid-connected wind power plants—Salkhit, Tsetsii, and Shand Salkhit with a combined installed capacity of 155 MW. In 2025, these wind farms supplied 504.6 million kWh of electricity to the national grid. Wind power currently accounts for 59% of Mongolia's total renewable electricity generation.
